Tuesday 22 September - Villeneuve

Villeneuve is at the far eastern end of the trolleybus route.  The ride out is quite pleasant with good views of the Chateau de Chillon and the lake.  The town itself is on the flat land bordering the lake but behind are extensive vineyards which climb up the mountain.  Villeneuve has its own appellation. There is one main street which is bedecked with flags and interesting shops.

Au Soleil - Il luit pour tous - The sun - It shines for all

The lake area is pleasant with many ducks and swans.  It was very quiet today after a long weekend.

A trolley bus took us back to Territet where the funicular carried us up to Glion,
At Glion. Two locomotives (above and below Nos 11 and 12 were delivered by Stadler in December 2013

Lunch was at the Pinte de Jaman. Once again there were a number of people with high visibility clothes and most took the special which today was spaghetti bolognese.  Very good and very filling.

We were both dragging a little so we took the Rochers de Naye train down to Montreux (along with a bunch of boisterous kids returning to school from lunch), did some grocery shopping and returned to the apartment.
